The Florida Aquarium is a public aquarium located in Tampa, Florida with 7 exhibits in which you can touch animals and view several species of sea creatures.

Exhibits[]

The Florida Aquarium features 7 exhibits (not including Explore A Shore) that features unique tanks and sea creatures. The exhibits are:

  1. Wetlands Trail, the first exhibit you'll see on the tour across the Florida Coast. It has many tanks and also has Aquarium Mania above on an elevated platform. The featured animals include Otters, American Alligators (A. Mississippiensis) and birds.
  2. Aquarium Mania is the Second exhibit you'll see, located on an elevated platform above the Wetlands Trail. It shows the basic history of home aquariums.
  3. Bays and Beaches is the Third exhibit as you navigate your way through the aquarium, and features many animals near the shore- including the largest animal in the aquarium, the Goliath Grouper (E. Itajara). It also has a large touchpool called Stingray Bay, where you can touch small sharks and rays (dasyatis americana and Cownose Rays).
  4. No Bone Zone is a small touch pool where you can touch invertebres from the Northern Pacific's cold waters, like sea stars and anemones.
  5. Coral Reefs is the largest exhibit in the aquarium, featuring a single reef tank and the "Coral Caves." The Reef Tank has Great Barracuda (Sphyraena Barracuda) and the popular Sand Tiger Shark (Carcharias Taurus). At the end there is a large viewing gallery of the reef tank.
  6. Dragons Down Under is a small exhibit showing Sea Dragons and Sea Horses.
  7. Ocean Commotion is the last of seven exhibits at the aquarium, featuring a large tank with schooling fish, Blacktip Reef Sharks, and Spotted Eagle Rays. It also has an Octopus and other tanks with small fish off shore.
